Amazon shipped out my DVD's really quick, considering that I chose Free Shipping. They shipped my DVD's out the next day when I usually have to wait 3-4 days before they ship. I'll be happy that I'm getting all five seasons by the start of the weekend so you know what I'll be watching this weekend.

Just received all five seasons that I ordered. I've started watching the first season and I'm already starting on the third disk. Currently, my favoruite is My Blonde Haired Brunette. This episode is hilarious. Another of my favourites is Jealousy. Mary Tyler Moore is hilarious as Laura and I think they cast the perfect actress for this role.

Absolutely!  And she blossoms even more as the series progresses.  It's terrific to watch.

What can I say, it's going to take me a week or two to watch through them all.

A week?  Man, I can't get close to your league   I bought that complete set a few years ago and I'm about halfway through Season 3.

And you're right about MTM...perfect casting for her as well as the entire cast.

When you get to S3, watch for that episode that guests Greg Morris and about a flashback story with the Petrie's early marriage days.  Since I don't know if you've seen any of these before, I'm not going to be a spoiler   But that one's in my top 5 episodes of the show.

I don't remember any of these episodes, even though I remember watching the series from my childhood. I'm actually making my way through the fourth disk of the first season. I should finish the first season today and to start working on the second season.

The first 2 episodes of Season Two are among the series absolute best (IMO): Never Name a Duck and The Two Faces of Rob.

Lots of other great eps (like Gesundheit, Darling, with a brilliant performance by Dick) all the way up to the final ep of the set, All About Eavesdropping. ("Pearl Harbor? Stab in the back?"  )

I envy you seeing all these for the "first" time.  Enjoy!

I have to say that there are quite a few episodes toward the end of the first season that weren't all that great ... I'm looking forward to the second season.

I wasn't a big fan of the first season of Dick Van Dyke. There is a greater emphasis on little Ritchie in these eps, and to be honest I think the child actor that played him was insufferably bad. I hate to dump on a little kid, but he played 'cute' in very self conscious way, and it frequently came across to me like the show would stop briefly to indulge his adorable antics.

Larry Matthews wasn't the best little actor in the world but he was central in my favorite episode. The one where he asked where he came from. Pretty cutting-edge TV for the time.

'100 Terrible Hours'  Season Four, Disc Five (ep.#122)

One of the best episodes of any show that I have ever seen; certainly one of the funniest. After seeing Dick Van Dyke's amazing performance in this episode you'll easily understand why he won the Emmy for Comedy Actor in a leading role.

I'm actually through the second season. However, I thought the episode "It May Look Like a Walnut" was hilarious. Rob falls alseep watching a sci fi movie and thinks that aliens are plotting to steasl his brains and replace them with walnuts.
