Anyone know how to listen to a cd and watch video at the same time?  The manual instructions don't seem to work.

Thanks!

Yes, I know how.

Hello, Ryan and welcome to HTF.  I know my answer is vague but it is as vague as your question.  To get more detailed, we really need to know the equipment that you are using.

Mainly, what video source you are trying to watch (type/brand/model), how it's connected to your receiver (component/HDMI/etc.), and how the receiver is hooked to the TV (what model).

I'm having the same problem. Here is my setup: I have a Yamaha HTR-6140. I'm running HDMI from a PS3 into the HDMI DVD input of receiver and an HDMI out from the receiver to a Toshiba 32" HD TV.  I have an output stereo cable from an airport into the receiver's RCA inputs for CD.  When I try what the manual says to play a videogame, movie, etc.. through the PS3 and listen to music on a different input (CD) it doesn't work.  All the manual says is "Press the input selector buttons control (4) to select video source and then an audio source.  I press DVD (which switches to my PS3) and then press CD (which has the music input from my airport) and it just switches between the two.  Is it because my video is from HDMI?  All I know is that it doesn't work at all and it's very upsetting. I like to play videogames and listen to music sometimes and I can't now.
