help, I'm too stupid to hook up my HT to my TV

Hey Gang, New here, but really need some help.
I just purchased a samsung 650 plasma, and the samsung as730s HT.
I've tried connecting my HDPVR via HDMI to the HDMI in on my HT, then have my HDMI out for the HT to the HDMI in on the TV.
I don't get any picture using this method.

I get a picture if I run the HDMI straight from the PVR to the TV, but that really doesn't use my HT system for what it's worth.
I've even tried using different HDMI cables in case maybe one of the cables was the problem.  I've called samsung, and man were they ever helpful.

SO now I'm reaching out here, hoping maybe somebody has a solution for me.

You've assigned HDMI input to SAT or something?  Get audio but not video, or neither?
What model HDPVR?

There are some reports of buggy HDMI on this unit.  Though it's also possible that it's the HD-PVR at fault, some have bad firmware that have problems going through repeaters.

If Samsung rep offers no solution, then perhaps you should return & get receiver/speaker package.  Might be a bit more expensive ($600-700) but the speakers will likely be better. Or the Onkyo HTS-6100 HTiB @ ~$600.

HI there,
I have my hdmi out going into an hdmi in on the tv, and get no signal, nada!

where can i find out about problems with that ht unit?

The main question is whether you did the "input assign" in the receiver setup menus, to assign the HDMI to a particular source, then select that source.

Sounds like there is setup involved to recognize that you want the input to read the HDMI?
