Possible Errol Flynn DVD Box Sets?

Thread Starter
I read on the Washington post last month about Warner Bros releasing one or several Errol Flynn DVD Box Sets in the near future. Has anyone heard or read anything on this???

Gear mentioned in this thread:

I googled the "Washington Post" and Errol Flynn and found the June 21 Post article containing what I believe to be the quote to which you refer:

"He forged the quintessential image of a full-blown action-adventure movie star. "No actor in film history has so successfully played a swashbuckler, a cowboy or a war hero as Errol Flynn," said Thomas McNulty, author of "Errol Flynn: The Life and Career." McNulty claims there is a "Flynnaissance" underway with the Warner Bros. release of several DVD box sets of his films and more to come."

As you are probably aware there have already been 3 Flynn DVD box sets from Warners. While there is certainly enough material to fill another box, the question is will it be commercially released on "standard" DVD or part of the WarnerArchive website. If you do a search you can probably find the posts detailing the remaining films in question.

One Flynn film has already shown up in the Archive:  the screwball comedy Four's A Crowd he made with Olivia de Havilland.

Of which I won't purchase until it's properly mastered and on an actual DVD/not-burned. Where are his World War II films? I'd purchase those in a boxset. I'm one of those Errol Flynn fans who WANTS to buy the boxsets! Although I didn't buy Volume II since my Mom got it for me for my birthday the year it was released and I still ought to buy the Western collection. NO MORE WARNER ARCHIVE FOR ERROL FLYNN FILMS!
Speaking of which, where are the John Garfield, Stewart Granger and other actors filmographies on DVD? Oh, they might be in the Archive possibly? No thanks. I'd rather take a stamped DVD with great original picture and sound with good extras compared to a burned disc. I could just transfer the VHS/Laserdisc and make my own versions. Or might they be using the Archive to see if there's enough demand for certain titles to release on stamped discs?
One quota for future Errol Flynn boxsets, USE THINpaks more! Not everyone has the shelf space for Amaray-sized spines on their shelves. On my DVR I always look for Errol Flynn films being shown to record onto my DVR, the ones still not on DVD. I even own The Adventures of Robin Hood on HDDVD!
