Yamaha RX-V465 HELP with Audio IN

Thread Starter
 Here are the specs...

I have a small theatre room with RBG/AudioL-R Rapid Run. I cant seem to get audio IN to my Yamaha to get it OUT to my speakers or other components. From what I can tell its only allowing HDMI(4) in or Component 1&2 in with RBG wires.

I have tried several kind of combinations.

Question 1: Can I run HDMI into the reciever then it go OUT to the speakers and tv via the RBG rapid run? Or does HDMI in mean only HDMI out?

Question 2: If the answer is yes to the question above how do I do it?

Question 3: HDMI up-sourcing.. Is this what Im looking for?

Thanks for your help guys!

I think you need to provide more information, like what audio sources you are trying to connect to your Yamaha receiver (TV, DVD, Cable/Satellite Converter Box, etc). Also, what type of connections these devices will allow you to connect to your receiver,

It looks like that Yamaha can accept almost any type of audio/video connection or combination currently available.

Without knowing what an "RGB/AudioL-R Rapid Run" is, it sounds like it only contains video (RGB) and stereo (AudioL-R) connections.

HDMI in will only go to HDMI out for the video.  This is true of all receivers.  Some receivers can convert from component (green/blue/red) -> HDMI out, but this model isn't one of them.

Audio from HDMI can be sent to speakers, HDMI out to the TV, or both.  (Setup/HDMI/audio, normally you want "amp").

If you are having trouble with getting audio/video from a particular component, supply model #s and exactly what is & isn't working.
