Issue with new Pioneer Receiver

Thread Starter
I'm having an issue with my new Pioneer VSX-1019AH-K 7-Channel A/V Receiver

I am running a pretty simple setup.
Toshiba REGZA 42RV530U
Xbox 360 Premium (Component Hookup & Optical)
Dish Network Cable Box (Model Num?)

The Xbox and the Dish are going into the Pioneer via Component/Optical & HDMI respectively. Then the Pioneer via HDMI to TV.

The issue is when I turn on the TV, Pioneer, and DISH, the TV doesn't recognize the video signal. I have to switch inputs on the Pioneer and then back to the DISH input and then all is good.

For example

> Turn TV, Pioneer, Cable Box on.
>> Sound comes through speakers from Cable Box.
>>> TV says "Unrecognizable Signal" (or something like that)
>>>> Switch Input on Pioneer, then switch back to Cable Box
>>>>> Everything is cool.

Hope I explained this enough... what gives?

The handshaking on the HDMI for the HDCP can be a total pain sometimes and cause issues.

What I would do is:
-systematically test the 6 different orders you can turn on the TV, Pioneer, & Dish and see which of these provides reliable operation, if any
- search around web to see if any of the components has a firmware update that fixes a problem of this nature
- or just screw it & use component video for everything (optical/coax for audio).  There's no particular reason to use HDMI for these components anyway, it's only important for Blu-ray.
