Hey guys!

My dad gave me this sub 2 years ago and I have been using it. I am just curious how is this subwoofer? It's a size 10" correct?

No it is a 12", it is an HGS 12, which is a very good sub, I have an HGS 10 that works wonderfully for music and does ok in HT as long as the room is not too large or sits on a concrete slab. Being a sealed sub it delivers tighter bass than a larger, ported one, it depends on what you are trying to achieve. That thing has a 3000W max amplifier that pushes the driver cone much further than other subs and a chip that rides on the voicecoil controls distortion. it works wonders if size and space are an issue or the wife doesn't want a huge box in the house but there are limits due to the small size. It won't slam or fill a room with earth shattering bass like an SVS can but gets the job done..

I will use this for HT and I am not looking for something that is crazy. Just good to watch blurays, etc.
