I am also suprise the 1970s the did not have the Partridge Family 2200AD, Emergency +4, Captain Caveman and the teen angels. There are many other shows out there as well. My guess is warner and the other studios are testing demand for the cartoons.

WHV Press Release: Saturday Morning Cartoons Volume 2 - Page 3
I think Hardy Boys was done by Filmation and under who ever has the rights to the Hardy Boys franchise.
Emergency + 4 was done by another studio, and again there are probably ownership issues with whoever owns the rights to the Emergency series.
Please let there be a set three.

As for the 1970s, it is well represented and like its selection. It spikes interest too see what they will release in volume #3 down the road.
1. New Adventures of Gilligan
2. Jabberjaw
3. Goober and the Ghost Chaser
4. The Funky Phantom
5. Herculoids
6. Speed Buggy
7. Valley of the Dinosaurs
8. Banana Splits
I am still going to purchase the volumes, because i grew up in 1970s with saturday morning cartoons. I have approximately 40 cartoon sets on dvd. There are a few I am looking for, but, I am patient to see how things developed. The recession has cut into consumer spending and also has delayed the network with issuing any new dvds other then there current commitment. Plus, there are quite a few releases out there that I want to complete first.

I don't particularly care for these types of sets. I guess some of these shows would probably never get released on their own otherwise, but it still isn't enough to get me to buy them. I'd like to see Quikdraw and Herculoids get their own releases at least. There are also quite a few Ruby-Spears shows I'd like to see get released as well.
Quick Draw McGraw was supposed to be released a few years ago, but got pulled:

i can give you my take on the revised seventies list. I grew up watching 1970s cartoons, so people born in 1965-1974 would .have grown up watching saturday morning cartoons
- Disc 1
- Help! It's the Hair Bear Bunch: Keep Your Keeper
- I dont remember this show
- New Adventures of Gilligan: Off Limits
- I love this show, because it was continuance from the tv show. I have been waiting for this show to be released.
- Sea Lab 2020: Deep Threat
- this show only had 13 episodes and was on in 1972.
- Amazing Chan and the Chan Clan: The Mardi Gras Caper (Episode 12)
- This show was included on volume #1
- Shazzan: The Living Island / Master of the Thieves
- This was another show from 1960s that was re-aired in 1970s
- Yogi's Gang: Mr. Bigot
- Yogi's gang was a flying ark
- Disc 2
- Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Hour: For Scent-Imental Reasons/Stop, Look and Hasten, Hare-Way to the Stars/Duck! Rabbit, Duck!
- Valley of the Dinosaurs: Forbidden Fruit
- this is a cartoon version of the land of the lost
- Tom and Jerry/Grape Ape (HB): Show #1 - No Way Stowaway / That Was No Idol, That Was My Ape / The Ski Bunny / The All American Ape / Stay Awake Or Else
- Banana Splits Adventure Hour: Joning the Knights/The littlest Musketeer/"Danger Island
- This show was actually from 1968-1969 and was re-aired in the 1970s.
-
- Inch High Private Eye: Diamonds are a Crook's Best Friend
- i dont remember this show
-
- New Adventures of Batman and Robin: Sweet Joke on Gotham City
- I have this series on dvd and it was part of the tarzan/Zorro hour
I like the selection, but, I would have liked them to include Jabberjaw, Scooby-doo laff lypics, Brady Kids, etc. I am still planning to purchase the set, because it takes me back to my child-hood.
The series premiere (Show #TJGA-1) of The New Tom & Jerry/Grape Ape Show on DVD!!
It's better than I hoped!!

(Though I really shouldn't hold my breath of them locating the original New Tom & Jerry/Grape Ape interstitials...
)

I would buy a Quick Draw McGraw set!
And any of the Ruby-Spears stuff too, I really wish Thundarr The Barbarian would get a set.

I like the 1973 version of SuperFriends as well. It is still my favorite of the series; maybe because it was the first "Justice League" type cartoon show that came out. This version of the SuperFriends is available for download on iTunes and I have it on my iPod. They even included the "next week" trailers for most of the episodes.

He added, “Once again, we are offering viewers an extensive assortment of cartoons with these two new volumes, including some rare selections that have never been available on DVD before. Our goal is to bring back that Saturday morning viewing experience, when cartoons dominated the airwaves and there were enough shows to appeal to every type of viewer. This is a must-have DVD for classic cartoon lovers and fans of nostalgia.”
The post and background information from Warner Bros. It sounds like WB was very happy with the previous sales and therefore are going forward with the new releases. Maybe the future releases with have the skatebirds, jabberjaw, the adams family, etc.
I hope volumes 3, will include Korg 20000 BC, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kids, Those Were The Days, the animated Addams Family, etc.
And I'd still like to see Moby Dick, the HB Fantastic Four, and the Superman/Aquaman Power Hour or Superman/BatmanHour show up as well.
Can anyone tell me which HB show also had the Galaxy Trio paired up with it?

Something for everybody.

Guys! Do you think volume 2's will do well enough in sales for WB to consider releasing third volumes?
I'm going to go out on a limb to say yes. Both the 60's and 70's did fairly decent on amazon.com and since they were still getting the kinks out of this set--they may do better on the upcoming second editions.
I hope the producers do a fairly decent job on getting some extras put together
James
Hi James,
I agree with you. I am thinking we could see Jabberjaw, Captain Caveman, Scooby-doo Laff-lympics, Skatebirds, etc on future releases. I grew up with saturday morning cartoons and glad i have been able to purchase several dvd relesaes. I just hope more are coming down the pipeline.
That would depend on ALL OF US, wouldn't it?
I know I'll be there!
Besides, Warner is not releasing very many animated products in the near future... not counting "Complete Series" of things already released and repackagings of Scooby-Doo Where Are You and Looney Tunes Golden Collections into a new Spotlight Collection, so it will probably benefit from the unfortunate lack of competition.
