I have had a Pioneer pdp5010 fd for about 11 months and about a month ago i noticed a red dot (looks like a laser pointer) in the lower left third of the screen i went a away buthe then came back a few days later, I called the Costco service line and they had me power cycle the tv. This seemed to work but now it is back and more constaant, i called again and they are telling me that this is a property of plasma and there is nothing wrong. Is there any thing i can do as this is upsetting to spend 3g's on a tv and in less than a year get a red dot in the picture.

Greetings
Bad or stuck pixel. The TV makers do not guarantee that all 6 million pixels will always work. The tolerance is many more than just 1 pixel. Some manuals actually state that the guarantee is for 99.99% fully functional pixels. When you figure out what 0.01% means ... it is 60,000 pixels.
If you are lucky ... the TV store will have mercy on you ... if not ... then the TV is built within spec. The No TV is perfect.
