ok - this is weird! I hope someone can help me.

I had this set-up put together last weekend - Panasonic Blu-Ray DMP BD60 hooked up to my 32" Samsung 1080, and my existing RCA 5:1 surround sound system - and it was working great!

Today i tried to play some Blu-rays, and the sound worked on the intro portion of the disc, but the moment i clicked play on the actual movie, there was no sound!! The sound is there on all speakers when watching regular cable tv, but just not when i play on the blu-ray. Ive tried several discs, and it happens to all of them.

I am not tech savvy, so any advice would be great.

Thx.

Please post model #s of TV & RCA, and what cables connect to what?  E.g. do you have optical from BD60 to RCA system directly (recommended when sound system doesn't handle HDMI audio), or do are you trying to only go optical from TV to the RCA with only HDMI from BD->TV(which typically doesn't work/only partially works).  Also post titles of the discs, are they DTS-HD titles with no Dolby track?  Were these same discs working before or is this the first time you tried them?

Thanks Man! Turns out it was the disc's! (Im such an ass) Transporter and Moonraker, neither ran on surround, but worked on stereo thru the tv. But all my other Blueys still run fine!

Answer the other questions I asked.  If your RCA system is really old, it's possible that it supports Dolby Digital but not DTS.  For DTS only titles like Transporter, you'd have to set the audio settings on the BD60 to "PCM" rather than "bitstream".  (Set back to "bitstream" for any Dolby titles or DVDs).

For "Moonraker", I think there's a Dolby 2.0 track, use that instead of the DTS from the Blu-ray menu.

You may want to consider upgrading to a newer better sound system w/ DTS.
