I was going thru some older DVD Set for Hawaii Five-O when I noticed how much better the Disks looked then with full color artwork. Of course thats a thing of the past now that CBS has embraced silver plain jane disks for all their set. It's also true for most of the other distributers. For the still relatvely high cost of dvd would it kill them to give us some nice artwork to look at.

A Lament for DVD Artwork

Odds are that the upcoming "Hotel" release will also have the silver discs. I recall being at the Simpsonville Wal-Mart Supercenter on the first day of release of #4 of "Hawaii Five-O." I purchased it, got home, opened it, and lo-and-behold, no artwork, just silver discs. I would have thought that CBS would have designed its labels for that release to blend in with the insides of the cases, as was done with #1 and #3 (that didn't happen with #2; the cases were yellow inside, and the discs were bluish with palm trees on them). But no, CBS had to use silver discs, and those didn't blend in at all.
