I'm looking to buy a Blu-ray Player. The two new ones from LG look pretty good, as far as I can tell the only difference in the BD390 is that it has Wi-Fi and looks a little different. I'm not looking to spend more than about $450 on a BD player. Are these LG's the best for their price?

Well you should be able to get the 390 for $350 at the most. The PQ is excellent, but one drawback is that when you play a disc with multiple angles, like the Star Trek: TOS blu-ray set, anytime a second angle is available the angle icon appears and then flicks off when it is gone. The problem is there appears no way to turn that off.
My other issue is with the sound on the same Star Trek disc. When I choose the 7.1 option it tends to drop out for a second about 3-4 times during an episode and always at the same spot. If you rewind and play it back the sound is there though. If you play the episode in the original 2.0 mono sound it is fine, but you should be able to play it in 7.1 if you prefer without losing the sound. When I play this in my Panny BD10A I can do so without any sound drops so it is obvously the LG.
LG just sent out a firmware update a week or two ago, but it didn't fix either of those issues I have.
Other than those things the player is great. Easy set up, easy WiFi connectivity, and again, a really breathtaking PQ.

I don't use it. I don't even have a netflix account, although one of the points for me in buying it was the ability to stream Netflix. I did hear from a few sources though that streamed netflix does not look that great, basically like standard def.
I will tell you that while the player is great overall their customer service is not. They do not appear to be very informative and were basically dismissive of my questions regarding the sound and the angle icon. They said sorry can't control the angle icon and if you try to play a 7.1 track on this player you MUST have a 7.1 setup or you will experience the dropouts. Even though other players allow you to play a 7.1 track in 5.1 with zero issues, this LG player won't and there's nothing they can/will do about it. Hopefully, enogh people will complain so they can do something with a firmware update.
I'll be sending an e-mail to see if I get a different response.

I am using the roku machine. if you are using HDMI to a 1080P tv set.. it should be fine. some stuff is in standard def and other are in HD. its pretty good. there is alot of stuff to choose from.
I was thinking about getting the lg. I already have a panasonic 60 and the ps3.
