To start off, I play bass guitar. I decided that I wanted to play guitar "surround sound" last night. So, I had two options. Either I plug the guitar directly into into my amplifier using a 1/4" TRS to RCA converter or I plug the bass to it's 35 Watt amp and then that amp to my Yamaha RX-V620 amp. I tried both and I noticed and extreme difference in quality and volume When I connected both amps together, the sound quality was not only 10X as clearer, but louder.
My question today is, whether a preamp for my Yamaha will preform this same task or not?
