No.  There was supposed to be a Volume 2 Film Noir set with IN A LONELY PLACE, NIGHTFALL, CITY OF FEAR, PUSHOVER, and THE BROTHERS RICO.

I want to know about the NEW HOLLYWOOD COLLECTION with Head, Drive He Said, Last Picture Show and others!!!

I truly hope that this is still on the schedule, and sooner than later!!!

Didn't that get pushed to mid 2010?

It wouldn't surprise me. Bad Girls of Film Noir is 8 films! Surely that will cover the Noir budget for at least the first 3 months of the year.

What we really need is the new Gilda transfer released on Blu-ray. :D

Not sure how accurate it is but TCM is listing the Rita Hayworth set for 5/24/10:

Yes! Couldn't agree more! The sooner the better!

I preordered this set back in August when it was first listed at Amazon.com.... It's time for an official release date.

The one given by MoviesUnlimited seems more like a guess, because till last week it had a 02/23/2010 on their site.
Mr. Schlesinger, where are you?

Our sources at Sony have informed me that Rita will most
likely be available the second half of 2010.  It is currently
being delayed due to normal schedule changes and
additional work.

Also, Noir Classics 2 will come out in 2010 in addition
to the two Bad Girls volumes.

Thanks for the update regarding Rita and the webiste, Ron. I'm really excited what other Columbia Classics might get a release this year and are still unknown.

What about the New Hollywood Collection??
wow, i pre-ordered this set from amazon last may, and it has been postponed twice now!!

i can only hope-dream really- that the delay may be due to sony adding more films to the set..... i mean, how long can it take to film a special feature short?

i hope sony will expand this set to match the size and scope of the william castle box set from last year. that would be nice.

and i know they are working on remastering 'the lady from shanghai'..... that and the two astaire-hayworth musicals (remastered) added to this set would be fantastic and worth the wait.

I just checked Amazon and I did not see a release date yet for this box set; does anyone else have an update? I am so looking forward to purchasing it, whenever it is released.

Movies Unlimited is listing May 24 (but that's a Monday?)
on walmart's website it says: "preorder this item today and it should ship on 05/04/2010". i will just wait for sony to make an official announcement. if they hurry up i just might buy two sets.

I'll wait for the Blu-ray 3D release of Miss Sadie Thompson. Of course if this problem they are having with 3-D ghosting on the first Blu-ray 3D release of Monsters vs. Aliens is not fixed I'll pass.

It's time again to ask the question. When is the Rita Hayworth Collection going to be released? The latest speculation I read is November. Can anyone confirm?

Up until a few weeks ago Amazon had no date listed; now it clealy has a November 2 release date.

Up until a few weeks ago Amazon had no date listed; now it clearly (and finally) lists a release date of November 2.

i got an amazon email update today (order placed may 16 2009) that - factoring in the delivery time- my hayworth set is arriving mid-november. i still am in doubt until i see a press release from sony with my own eyes!!

both "movies unlimited" and "turner classic movies" have posted the cover art for this set, under the title 'the films of rita hayworth'. looks cool!

it's GREAT to finally see some movement toward a definite release!!!

I'd buy Gilda on Blu-ray.

I did not realize the films carried intros from Martin Scorcese, Baz Luhrmann and Patricia Clarkson. Does anyone know if any other extras are included?

Introduction by Baz Luhrmann? I'm definately not buying this now.

I'm sure they're extras, as with the Columbia Noir sets, and not something you have to scan past to get to the feature.

It really is a crying shame Columbia isn't releasing Miss Sadie Thompson with a 3-D option.

One of the state-of-the-art stereoscopic films, and Columbia puts it out with half the movie missing.

I'd rather get it in full color than red/green or red/blue anaglyph 3-D, especially when the 3-D effect doesn't work all the time on home video with that process.

If there is demand, maybe someday there will be a 3-D Blu-ray to be used on a 3-D Blu-Ray player on a 3-D HDTV with some 3-D glasses. Wow, sounds like a lot of effort to prepare for that, huh? But at least it would be in full color and be real 3-D.

I can't stand him either, Beth. His commentary and visage all over the SINGIN' IN THE RAIN set annoyed me to no end, always finding a way to mention MOULIN ROUGE, which I think is at the top of the list of worst musicals ever on film.
