Tell us about your guns. Centrefire, rimfire, muzzle load, rifles, pistols, whatever. Photos are good too.

Re: What guns do you own?

I have a "Super Saoker Flash Flood"
It has a 30 Ounce Tank, with a quick fill cap.
I can shoot a target from 35 feet with the water stream, or unleash the whole tank in one "Flash Flood".

Re: What guns do you own?

Not touching this with a 10 foot pole. Last week I mentioned my gun hobby, and very soon I was accused of being prone to violence, full of "pent up anger," and being just like Lee Harvey Oswald (the last one is a real kicker). Thank God I no longer smoke, or the villagers would be at my house with torches.

These are my guns.

Re: What guns do you own?

I do not own a gun. If I did it would be locked up with the ammo in a separate location. I do not know if I could use it for self defense, even if I had one and I figure by the time I got my act together and thought about it, the other guy would have shot me already. I do not hunt, but I have shot guns at a range. It was fun, but not enough for me to start a gun hobby. If I want to hear loud bangs, I go down to the theater and crank up the SVS.

Guns are legal; people own them, shoot them, and collect them. So get over it. If you can't, then this is obviously not a place for you, and continuing your line of posting in here is just going to start an argument. Basically, if you aren't going to list the guns you own, I humbly ask you to stay out of the thread.

Hah! Your post was even worse Jeff, you probably scared off a few people with that one.

I know a gun-nut here on the forum who can fill up a thread with this crap, not naming names.

Btw I own an air rifle, does that count? [leaps quickly out of thread]

Re: What guns do you own?

I don't feel like posting a list of all my firearms on a public forum.

Funny you should mention him. I actually bought a model 1938 Carcano so I could see what the LHO rifle was like. Mine's made in the same factory and the same year as the LHO rifle, and the serial numbers aren't that far apart.

Re: What guns do you own?

Lemme see...
I have a Smith & Wesson 9mm., a Ruger .22 semi-auto rifle and a 12 gauge Remington pump shotgun. I would have more but budget dictates otherwise. I don't hunt anymore, I just like to "target" practice.

Re: What guns do you own?

how is the LHO?? why the hell not have a thread. people can speculate, compare, there will be the inevitable fights and such for the simple fact that opinions are like a***holes; everyone has one but nobody wants to see anyone else's, but hell, somebody might even learn something here. and yes there are some macho wanks out there with their guns but it's just a fun hobby or whatever. it just happens that the collectible can kill!!! LoL

Re: What guns do you own?

If it were legal (I'm in Canada), I'd probably get myself an AK-47 just to admire the mechanical simplicity of the assault weapon that has killed more people than any other firearm in the world.

Controversial enough for you?

Josh: Do you own any guns? I'm wondering what your interest is. Are you looking for recommendations?

Drobbins I bought a small digital safe a couple of years ago that will hold a hand gun and the top of it has spots for your fingers. That way if you need to get into it in a hurry you just have to remember what fingers to push and then the door springs open. Safe but effective.

My favorite gun is a 16 GA Ithaca Pump that I got from my grandfather as a kid.

Re: What guns do you own?

We (meaning my sons and I) own a 12-gauge shotgun, a .22, a BB gun, and a 30-30 rifle. I've had my eyes on a .45/70 calibre rifle (either a Marlin or a Sharps). My youngest son is currently saving up for his own .410.

Addendum: My son loves to hunt (during season), although I don't care for it too much. But I do love target practicing and shooting guns for the enjoyment of it.

Re: What guns do you own?

To be fair to Mr. Kalashnikov, he designed his rifle not so much in pro-Communist enthusiasm as in anti-Nazi enthusiasm.

The rifle that's killed more people than any other is probably the Model 1898 Mauser.

Re: What guns do you own?

Biggest death count or not, I'm still very impressed by its simplicity and its ruggedness. This thing could be dragged through a swamp, and it would still work! Granted it doesn't shoot very straight, but the AK-47 combined with the Toyota Hilux pickup truck have successfully supported many Third-World revolutions over the decades. It's that sheer effectiveness that impresses me the most.

Re: What guns do you own?

Many years ago before I was of legal age, I owned a spud gun. Single shooter, manual reload.

I gotta remember that one. That's excellent and makes the point.

Re: What guns do you own?

For a concealed carry piece while hiking I picked up a S&W "Airweight" revolver in .38 special +P. At 15 oz. dry it has the most power per weight of anything I know. I would hate to have to shoot a cougar or a pack of wolves or a bear but would do so instinctively in extremis.

Re: What guns do you own?

Definitely don't mess with bears.

Many years ago, a dozen of us working on a cabin in the Alberta bush were receiving regular "visits" from a black bear looking for food. Our camp supervisor was a licensed hunter and tried to hunt down the bear before it decided to go after one of us.

One day while we were having lunch, the bear walked right into our compound! We started to move towards the work shed for protection before the bear decided to charge us. But before we got to it however, our supervisor came out from behind the shed where he was taking a leak, grabbed his hunting rifle, and killed the bear in two shots. One to hit it at a distance, and one more to finish it off. He ran very quickly between the two shots to make sure the bear wasn't suffering for too long.

A firearm's function is to inflict extreme, even lethal force against an opposing living creature. There's no way around it. That's its design. That's its purpose. But on that day, that same firearm probably saved a whole lot of lives.

And as it turns out, bear meat tastes pretty good!

Re: What guns do you own?

I have an authentic 'Red Ryder' that Ralphie used in "A Christmas Story". But I have to be careful because I can shoot my eye out with it.

30-30, very nice. plenty of punch.

me?
a norinco .22 (kinda like this one only fully floated in a synth stock)

and i'm looking at a tikka .222 my mate has

scope on the .22 is a nikko 3-9x42, the .222 will have my Bushnell elite 3200 3-9x40 on it, and i have Harris 9-13" notch leg bipods which are a brilliant shooting aid

Re: What guns do you own?

I own 2 .45's... A Colt Officers, and a Kimber Classic...
as well as an Italian made Berreta 92F 9mm from 1990...

Riffle wise I have a Colt Match target, same as an Ar15 .223, Remmington 7400 .308, and 2 Ruger .22 riffles...

I go shooting twice a year, and love target shooting, and long range scoping on my riffles...

Ohhh.. Forgot to mention, I also own a Chinese made SKS, which was the precursor to the AK47????

Have you tried the new rimfire .17HMR? That thing shoots far and flat, and isn't much louder than a .22LR. Easy and accurate with less recoil than my .22mag. I have one in a left-hand Savage with a heavy barrel and a 3-9x30 Bushnell scope on it. I think I paid $250 for it. I already had the scope, but they mounted and bore-sighted it for me for no extra charge.

The .38, while effective against two-legged predators, would likely only make a bear angry if you shot one with it.

Any handgun round is likely to be underpowered to penetrate the thick hide and hard skull of a full-size bear - if you don't have a long gun, your best bet with a pistol would probably be the .44 magnum or a 10mm.

Re: What guns do you own?

One of the things that I miss about living in the country is having a shooting range in our backyard. Now it's more difficult to check out my latest addition of "The Judge" revolver that will shoot .45 Long Colt or 410 Gauge shotgun shells.

With only a 3" barrel if I took it to a gun range I'd probably put shot in everyone's targets!

I'm not a Taurus fan but couldn't resist this one.
