Yeah, I think the writer's strike bumped it to the fall last year but I guess HBO wants the series to run in the summer. I imagine that the break between S2 and S3 will be the usual 8 months rather than the short break between S1 and S2.

Re: True Blood: Season Two

Really liked the season premiere, seemed to really go for hitting some hardcore points right out of the gate. It also seemed to lower the amount of camp that I remember from the first season.

I know it's probably from the book series, but the whole "Fellowship of the Sun" thing reminds me of the rival funeral home corporation in the first couple of seasons of Six Feet Under. Just like in that Alan Ball show I'm finding the characters in these organizations insufferable and somewhat badly scripted - though maybe he does characters in those kinds of institutions like that purposely. Still, most of the camp from the episode came from the Fellowship scenes and I really couldn't stand them so I hope that thread gets resolved and leaves, much in the same way I felt the plotline of the corporation in Six Feet Under wasn't nearly as good as the character-based plotlines, so I was happy when it fell by the wayside.

I would find them insufferable as well if they weren't so close to life.

It is funny when Bill pronounces her name as "suckee" as she is the suckee in their relationship.

Re: True Blood: Season Two

The show so goofily terrible, I continue to watch!

Nice boobies...

Re: True Blood: Season Two

Very solid start to Season Two...

I've stayed away from spoilers on purpose, so I was very glad/relieved to see that Lafayette was not the body in the car at the end of Season 1.

BTW, at the very end, what did Eric have in his hair? It looked almost like they were those little alumninum foil strips people put in their hair when they are getting highlights?

Re: True Blood: Season Two

Well, that's because it looked like he was getting his hair done and got interrupted by plans for uprising coming from the whisperings of Lafayette and the dude with the magnetic butt.

That's kind of what I thought.... and I find the fact that he was getting his hair done strangely hilarious.

To each their own but I think True Blood is easily the best new show on HBO since Deadwood started and a legitimately good show. There's elements that are funny or tongue in cheek but they're designed to be that way rather than something that tries to be serious and just ends up unintentionally funny.

Totally agree.

"It looked almost like they were those little alumninum foil strips people put in their hair when they are getting highlights?"

Hey, contemporary vampires.

"Nice boobies..."

Take a look at imdb. After a decade of everyone telling me how ugly she is, now suddenly everyone loves Anna.

Funny spots for me were Bill and Jessica. Bill telling her to be in bed by 4 and giving her his rules. Shes such a brat. I enjoy every scene with them. Also the vet smelling whatshernames hair after she hugs him in appreciation, and the redneck confessions in the dungeon. The whole Tara and Maryanne thing I could care less about. Thats usually when I refill my glass, take a leak, etc.

And did anyone else catch that preview for The Pacific? WOW!

The only thing that sucked about that was that it isn't airing until 2010.

Re: True Blood: Season Two

Bill & Sookie aren't big on foreplay, but the end was smokin' hot.

In an interview, Anna did say that this season would be more "nakeder" and boy was she right!

Great start but I do see the Jason and the church thing getting on my nerves quickly, does he ever make a good decision??

Re: True Blood: Season Two

Bill and Sookie and their relationship is the least interesting part of the show for me.

Everything else shines in contrast and I am very intrigued by what Michelle Forbe's character is up to.

Agreed. She's hilarious.

I loved her reaction when Sookie asked if Bill slept with her...

"Ewwww.... old..."

Holy crap! I missed that! Did it air before or after the show? I'll have to go and re-watch.

Well, I think she's gorgeous from the chin down and the nose up.

I was disappointed with those scenes. It would be much more interesting IMO if she were more psycho and less OC.

I wonder what was connected to the wheel that the the prisoners were turning? Perhaps some sort of rotisserie for the customers above...

It was on before the episode.

Carl: "Who cares."

I bet we see some of that...

The whole point is that she's an impulsive, wreckless, headstrong, annoying teenager.... add in the fact that she's a vampire and things could dangerous for others and her.

One line of dialog that I'm sure was not just slipped in there extraneously.... when Bill noted that "2/3 of new vampires don't make it through their first year..."

Could have some ramifications later in the season perhaps?

It was a pretty interesting line, that's for sure. Why don't they make it?

Re: True Blood: Season Two

Did anyone else's recording cut off at the end due to it running over? Mine ended right at the hour mark when Eric was talking to that red neck guy in the basement.

You didn't miss much. Eric asked him about the vampire house that got burned down last season. Then the guy (Royce?) puts a silver cross on Eric's face which burns him. Then Eric kills him as Lafayette watches and gets splattered with blood.

Re: True Blood: Season Two

That scene with the cross was kind of interesting. I've seen a lot of vampire stuff recently and may be confusing my worlds, but didn't Bill say last season that crosses and silver have no effect on them?

Re: True Blood: Season Two

Silver burns. We saw several instances of that last season. Bill said that crosses had no impact, but if it were made of silver, I guess it could burn, which is what appeared in this episode.

Thanks Travis. I didn't miss much, heh?

Re: True Blood: Season Two

This show is why I insisted on Comcast renewing my HBO subscription.
