Last Starfighter thought...

I remember seeing Last Starfighter when it came out and being amazed at how good the computer graphics were.
Now in this age of amazing computer effects. I am wondering if it would be interesting not to remake the movie. But, to update the graphics with today's technology? I know some may think its herecy. But, watching it now the graphics are very dated and can take you out of the movie. Just curious what others think.

Get off my lawn!

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
In the event of that being cryptic, TLS is fine as it is. All it's good for is nostalgia for children of the '80s like us. Leave it be and don't remake it, either!

A sequel, titled Starfighter, is listed as being planned at the George Paige Associates website. George Paige Associates, Inc.

It has an imdb.com page here - Starfighter (2010)

Re: Last Starfighter thought...

Me and my family went to see Ghostbusters (1st time for them, second for me) but it had left the theater. Last Starfighter was there. We were on the way home and reconsidered, went back and saw LS and had a ball! That's nostalgia you should never try to upgrade. Still, it would be interesting to see what they did with it. Let the gang who did the Star Trek upgrades have it! The movie is about a video game anyway!!

Last time I watched the film I thought everything still looked pretty good...considering when it was made. Now, TRON has the fortune of being ageless, to me anyway, because of the nature of the story.
