EVGA rolls out GeForce GTX 285 graphics card for Mac Pros

$450 isnt a bad price.... Until you consider that the standard PC version runs $300. I'm tempted tho! This would smolke what I have in there now and all those 'cores' would rock for snow leopard!

Re: Ubergoober video card for Mac Pro

Oh, Sam, why do you make me spend money?

I'll think about this towards year's end. Most likely I will
jump on it. Right now I am gearing up to buy a new 15" MBP.

VERY Quiet.  Surprising but much appreciated.  I LOOOOOOOVE how quiet my Mac Pro is.  Didn't want to give that up to get a juiced video card, glad I wouldn't have to if I went this route.
Buggy Drivers.
Questionable Value.
Super Easy installation.  Install the drivers BEFORE the card tho!

I'll continue to wait till Snow Leopard actually ships.

Looks like the ubergoober is officially supported by the Mercury Engine for Premiere CS5.

Now if it wasn't a year old already and likely to be replaced =(

The rumors were true and this is the new ubergoober card btw:

Says it is incompatible with the '08.  If it is compatible I will be buying one on day one rather than trying to do a flash.  I'm sure the flashers will find a cheaper version out there to flash over soon enough tho.

Sold.  As soon as I can find $450 that isn't tied up with me moving to Maryland.
