Hi there,

I'm sorta a newb at house audio stuff. I have a Denon AVR-1508, 2 Paradigm front speakers and a Paradigm sub. I'm hoping to get a center channel speaker soon since some movies do not let me choose 2.0 audio, which means loud effects and quiet dialog. Anyways, I have an XBOX 360 running to my receiver via component and audio running via the composite L/R cables attached. I'm curious if it would even make sense for me to use an optical cable from the XBOX to the receiver, or if the benefits would only occur for 5.1 setups?

Thanks in advance...
