I received "The Rolling Stones: The Biggest Bang" Blu-ray in the mail yesterday. I ordered it from Play.com. Since there was no topic for this title, I decided to give some impressions on the disc. The disc is region-free.

"The Biggest Bang" Blu-ray contains the 93-minute Austin TX's Zilker Park performance. The concert is shown in 1080i (60 Hz) - or at least that's what my PLV-Z700 projector tells me. The picture quality is quite good. However, it isn't as good nor as sharp compared to the "Shine a Light" Blu-ray. It lacks the fine detail of the aforementioned title. The audio is quite good too. The disc comes with two audio tracks: DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 with an average bitrate of 5 Mbps and PCM 2.0 Stereo with a bitrate of 2.3 Mbps.

Here is the tracklist for the Austin show:
01. Opening
02. You Got Me Rocking
03. Lets Spend The Night Together
04. Shes So Cold
05. Oh No. Not You Again
06. Sway
07. Bob Wills Is Still The King
08. Streets Of Love
09. Aint Too Proud To Beg
10. Tumbling Dice
11. Learning The Game
12. Little T & A
13. Under My Thumb
14. Get Off My Cloud
15. Honky Tonk Women
16. Sympathy For The Devil
17. Jumpin Jack Flash
18. (I Cant Get No) Satisfaction
19. Brown Sugar

The Blu-ray comes with some nice bonus features. The biggest attraction is the 67-minute "Salt of the Earth: A Bigger Bang tour Documentary". The documentary is shown in 1080p24. Audio is available in both DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and PCM stereo.

Other special features include the 6-minute "Austin Mini-Documentary" and three tracks ("Let's Spend the Night Together", "Rain Fall Down" and "Rough Justice") from the Saitama Super Arena show in Japan. These come with the same audio tracks as the others.

Overall, "The Biggest Bang" Blu-ray is a fairly nice set. The biggest gripe about this release is that drops a lot of material from the 4-disc DVD set so fans will want to hold on to that set as well. I think the Rio show was shot in standard definition (check out how bad it looks during the "Salt of the Earth" documentary) so that could be the main reason it's not included on the Blu-ray. The picture and audio quality is better compared to the DVD, of course, but it won't blow anyone's socks off.
