Do I need to stockpile supplies?

Re: Home Theater Forum 2.0 coming soon

I've been filling sandbags...

Re: Home Theater Forum 2.0 coming soon

Make sure you have plenty of salsa - but DO NOT have any silica packs near your computer in case they absorb all your posts at the changeover.

Re: Home Theater Forum 2.0 coming soon

I'm bunkered in with plenty of rations.

Re: Home Theater Forum 2.0 coming soon

Will the government issue coupons so I can afford the fancy-pants new box required to make my setup HTF 2.0 ready?

Re: Home Theater Forum 2.0 coming soon

D'ya suppose the HTF 2.0 will require a special "handshake" to get the necessary parts to properly communicate with each other?

Re: Home Theater Forum 2.0 coming soon

I have a signal booster at the ready in case the rabbit ears aren't up to snuff.

Re: Home Theater Forum 2.0 coming soon

I have started a consulting service to evaluate any compatibility issues that may arise. For the low price of $2,000.00 per computer, plus traveling expenses, I will come to your location and evaluate your computer to ensure that it is up to date and HTF-2.0 will run with out any issues. In the likely event that there is an issue, extra charges will apply. Send me a PM if interested. Don't get caught unprepared when HTF 2.0 is released. Plan ahead now!!

Re: Home Theater Forum 2.0 coming soon

Will my current computer work when HTF goes from analog to digital? Can I still get my gov't converter box?

(I never use the front page, and hadn't seen the countdown. Intriguing.)

Re: Home Theater Forum 2.0 coming soon

This is ridiculous. The old, black-and-white HTF was perfect, just the way it was. Then they had to go and make it all COLOR. It hurts my eyes, I tell ya. What're they gonna do this time? Make it 3-D? Sheesh.

Re: Home Theater Forum 2.0 coming soon

Rumor has it that HTF 2.0 will not function unless the user is wearing a USB dog shock collar.

I'm not sure what's up with that......

Will they colorize the old threads or leave them as is?

Re: Home Theater Forum 2.0 coming soon

I wonder if a firmware upgrade will allow us to get to the 2.0 platform...or do you suppose will we need to purchase new hardware?

Re: Home Theater Forum 2.0 coming soon

Hopefully you all will enjoy 2.0 as much as you seem to enjoy speculating.

Re: Home Theater Forum 2.0 coming soon

Shouldn't it be HTF version 3.0? IIRC they used another forum software prior to switching to vBulletin about 6 years ago.

basic format seems to be about the same.
I have a "feeling" this change will be much different.

Re: Home Theater Forum 2.0 coming soon

Over / Under on days before new software crashes the first time?

I wish all the best, of course, that it doesn't happen.

Re: Home Theater Forum 2.0 coming soon

HTF 2.0? A purge of all members who don't know when to end a word with S or 'S? Wishful thinking, I know.

Re: Home Theater Forum 2.0 coming soon

We'll look back on this transition as the moment when Skynet became self-aware.

Parker just skates by on his pretty face; I don't think he knows much about the technical side of things...
