I have the first two season's of the hardy boys on dvd. Has anyone heard when the third season will be released. I love that show I still have about 30 of the original novels in my collections.

I also like to see them release the 1969 cartoon as well. The episodes were based on the book, but, had some different endings and lots of music.

i heard this show was going to be completed, especially considering the final season only had 10 episode along with the premise they had join the justice department.

This is another one that I'd want to get but as far as know, no one has heard anything about it in a long time.  Sounds like it's another one that's in the black hole of TV/DVD stalled shows.

THe only way this show gets completed is if that "Hardy Men" movie project that's been in limbo for several years finally gets made and they could release it to cash in on it.     The only reason why Season 2 got out was to capitalize on the "Nancy Drew" movie that was out at the same time (and hence the reason why Nancy Drew was more prominent in the packaging even though this is the season where she was phased out completely).

I am still believing we could see this show come out soon. The second season came out in 2007 and season #1 came out in 2005. So, i am still thinking it could be coming out in 2010. I think many shows were shelved this year, because of the slowdown in the eonomy. I think studios released some of shows that were committed for this year, but, others were pushed out until 2010 or later.

You're not factoring in the reason why S2 got released in the first place.    If there had been no tie-in to the "Nancy Drew" film, then S2 would still be unreleased.      The economy has nothing to do with why the last season remains unreleased nor is there anything to gleam in the pattern of when the other two seasons were released.

i disagree with you Jack P. I still think they are planning to release the hardy boys and it has nothing to do with the Nancy Drew Movie. I read on different blogs/email exchanges that some releases were pushed out, because sales were down and the network/studios were going to wait until the economy picked up agaiin. I did also hear that some studios would still be releasing shows, but, it would be at slower pace and they would also be living upto their commitments for some of the shows.

I was referring to Season 2, which came out at the same time of the Nancy Drew movie in 2007.    Look at the packaging which shows "Nancy Drew" in more prominent letters and Pamela Sue Martin's picture is bigger than Cassidy/Stevenson even though there were only a handful of solo Nancy episodes and the character was dropped part way through (and Martin walked out).     This release was a gimmick tied into that project only and not because Universal had an idea to restart the rest of the run to conclusion.     Without that film, we'd still be stuck with just Season 1, and the only way Universal will feel any need to do S3 is if they can tie it to some other project.

I guess we will have to wait and see what happens. I am still hoping that Universal will release the dvd to complete the set.

I see there is a movie called Hardy Men do all in 2013 (see link: http://blog.80millionmoviesfree.com/coming-soon/the-hardy-men-director-shawn-levy). It looks like they are castng tom cruise and ben stiller. I hope this means the last season of hardy boys will be out in 2 years.

See my post from a year ago above.   "Hardy Men" has been in development limbo for several years now.

 Thanks Jack!

I think the movie is setting it up for a huge fall and i think the premise is also going to hurt its percepton by hardy boys fans that grew up on the books and the tv shows. It is not the hardy boys if they plan to make them into men. So, i am not sure why they would want to script this movie in such away. They should have stayed to its true colors, like as teenagers. I also think they had issues with Nancy Drew movie as well, but, i think that was for different issues. I dont remember many gals growing up that were Nancy Drew fans. I think the Hardy Boys had a much deeper following.  I still have around 25 or so of their books.
