B&W display from old(er) DVD player,new Samsung B750?

On the issue of hooking up old components........My Brother just bought a new Samsung B750. He hooked up his dvd player and the display was only in b&w...??? That's very weird. what causes that? :huh: He's going to buy a new BluRay anyway.

You didn't even mention how it was connected. Without more information we can't help.

If its hooked up component either the red and blue are hooked up in the wrong spot or the DVD player may have to be set for component. Either in the menu or a switch on the back. If its hooked up via S video then the cable may be loose
