Subwoofer Set Up - Volume Levels

I don't have a gauge yet to measure sound for my 5.1 system so doing it all by ear at the moment.
I have the volume on the subwoofer set for 2/3 of the way up and on the receiver for 0 db on the override setting.
Does that seem like a good starting point?

Re: Subwoofer Set Up - Volume Levels

There's no way to answer that. Every sub is going to be different, and depending on your room and where you have it positioned could have very different results. Even if you gave us all of that information, there's no way for us to answer that question. Many people like their sub output 10 decibels hot and I prefer mine at 0.

Dwayne,

What receiver do you have? Many include a mic and calibration software built in.

Go to Radio Shack....get the meter.

Then you could always return it.
