TV Shows on DVD: Exclusive 2-Packs @ Walmarts

I don't if anyone has been into your local Walmart store lately but I just returned from the local store here in Flint Michigan and they have an extensive line of exclusive TV Show 2-Packs that aren't available anywhere else. Of those I can remember:

Roswell Season 1/Season 2
The Big Valley Season 1/Season 2
Hill Street Blues Season 1/NYPD Blue Season 1 (Repackaged NYPD Blue Slimpack)
X-Files Season 1/Season 2
Stargate SG-1 Season 1/Outer Limits Season 1 (New Series: 1995)
Family Guy Season 1/Season 2
American Dad Season 1/Season 2
King of the Hill Season 1/Season 2
Angel Season 1/Buffy Season 1

There are lots more but these are the only ones I could remember. These sets are all on sale for $20 for each 2-pack. I purchased the Roswell 2-pack. If you want these sets or to check out their selection, I'd hurry because Walmart's doesn't display these sets for too long.

They have pretty much the same sets and many many more at Target, and Target's been selling them for about a year. They also have The Addams Family, Green Acres, Dark Angel paired with Dark Shadows, NYPD Blue, and god knows what else; Target has about 30 different sets. Sometimes they go on sale for much less than $20 too--!

Actually, you're wrong. These are new sets, exclusive to Walmarts. Much as you'd like to argue the point, these sets I found at Walmarts wouldn't be selling at Target. Trust me ... because most of these sets sell for $20 for a single season at Target.

None of the sets I saw have ever been sold at Target.

I wasn't arguing. And Target does indeed have the last four two-packs on your list, and also the Hill Street Blues/NYPD Blue set. Target doesn't have X-Files, Big Valley or Roswell to my knowledge.

I just came from Target for lunch, where I was checking out the TV on DVDs, and you are correct about those last four sets. They also had NYPD Blue Season 1/2 packaged together. I was trying to score M*A*S*H 1/2 together for the sale price of $14.99, but it's still $19.99, as most of those other sets are.

Hollywood is right and Ethan is wrong. Target never had HSB and NYPD Blue packaged together. They had NYPD Blues Season 1/2 packaged together with Hill Street Blues and some other show packaged together.

All in all, Ethan, why are arguing about this and bordering on flame-material. Stop being hateful and get with the program.

The proper thing is to say:

"Why, thank you, Mark, for letting us know about these sales."

You're spending too much time complaining about something that isn't going to go anywhere. If there's a problem, please take it to the Moderators. I'm just glad that the other members are going to be thankful for this news and they are all welcome.

Wayne, Target is having a sale starting Sunday on the 2-pack TV sets. A post over at DVD Talk says sale is from May 31 through June 6. While M*A*S*H wasn't specifically shown in the scan of the ad, there is a notation indicating "Titles Shown and Selected Others." There's probably a decent chance that you'll be able to get the sets for $14.99 come Sunday.
