Has anyone else seen a film presented in the new ETX projection system? My local AMC complex in downtown Toronto has been screening the new Star Trek film in this system in one of their auditoriums. From my perspective it's exactly the same as the Imax digital installations except that the picture is of a higher quality. Here's how AMC describes ETX:
A New Experience In Auditorium 7: ETX (Enhanced Theatre Experience) :
Add $2.00 per ticket (Tax Included)
ETX Includes:
-- 20% larger floor-to-ceiling screen
-- 11-channel surround sound with 57,000 watts of power
-- 8.8 million pixels providing 4X the resolution of HD
At least they're not trying to convince people that they're paying for an Imax presentation.
