Thanks for being the industry's voice of reason!
With the steady decline of catalog releases from every major studio, it's reassuring to find that there are still those bearing the torch for classic films in this diminishing medium!
Imagine... all it takes is a bit of excavation of catalog films and package titles at reasonable cost and with a bit of care, no gimmicks necessary!
2009...

Could it simply be a case of a brilliant marketing maneuver... Now that the commercial flood of classic releases has washed up, Sony opens the flood gates anew?
Whatever the case, it seems like it's been years (since the early days of the Warners classic genre sets) since I've genuinely felt any sense of excitement and anticipation towards upcoming releases as I do looking over the above list, and not only are they collections of great packages but nearly all choice catalog picks within! I strongly urge everyone who shares any opinion on the viability of this medium as a vehicle to preserve and present cinema as it was once embraced, to support Sony's well deserved efforts and so long as they continue to deliver classic films on DVD, I will certainly do the same!
This could be the last gasp from the commercial studios for standard DVD sales in our current economy and state and as film enthusiasts, I hope that we'll all give as much as we expect in return to keep this thing going a little while longer!
Thank you Sony and please keep up the great work!!!
