Split Screen picture?

I recently purchased a Dish VPR 722 HD DVR..when i tried hooking it up to my Infocus SP 4805 with the hdmi out to the DVI in on the projector, Im getting a double image on the screen? Its like from left to right on the sreen is part of the picture, then the right hand one third of the screen has the left hand part of the picture on it? I have used this same cable with my upconvert dvd player and it worked perfect, and when i hook up component video out of the dvr into the 4805 the picture is fine. I called dish to see if there were any settings in the dvr that would cure the problem and they had no answers and the tech i talked to had never seen the problem before..I tried settings in the 4805 menu also with no luck...has anyone else had this problem, and if so any help on fixing it would be greatly appreciated..thanks

Re: Split Screen picture?

This sounds like you have a severe problem with the phase of your image. What happens when you play with the image position controls in the 4805 (left / right)? Does the same problem occur if you use an analog cable between the Dish and PJ?

Re: Split Screen picture?

thanks for the reply greg...no as I was saying when i hook up the component cable from the DVR to the projector the picture is perfectly fine? Its only when i try to use the hdmi out of the dvr to the dvi in on the pj. I suppose the component cable will be ok, but you know us videophiles who have to try and get the optimum picture. And as I previously stated, i have used that same cable on from the hdmi on my dvd player to the dvi on the pj and the picture is great?...

Re: Split Screen picture?

So what happens when you play with the image (phase) adjustment controls on your 4805? If the amount of adjustment is small then this _may_ fix the problem. Also, have you tried any other DVI input with this PJ? If the PJ DVI works then I would contact Dish and get a replacement receiver (or have them fix the existing box).
