Just purchased a 52" Sony Bravia from Crutchfield and the automatic firmware update works. When I turned on the LCD yesterday a message advised the TV could not be viewed until the firmware update was processed. The LCD receives the updates from my outside antenna hooked up to the ATSC turner.
After reading threads about the Bravia LCD's I specifically watched several very dark movies, Pitch Black, Sunshine, and others and the picture is teriffic. No problems to report.
