The Liberty Boys (I think)

Does anyone remember this show? It was on tv around the late '70s, early '80s. I live in NJ so it might have been a local Philly program. All I remember is it was about these teenage boys doing silly, corny antics during the Colonial period. I can't find ANYTHING on the internet about it.

EDIT: Sorry wrong forum, meant to put this in the TV Programming forum. However, I wouldn't mind seeing this on dvd but I doubt it would hold up very well.

I love a mystery! And I googled the crap out of this concept--nothing! If you can remember the name of just one star, we'll probably figure it out.

Re: The Liberty Boys (I think)

Sorry Ethan but I have no idea who starred in it. I'm pretty sure it came on Sat. late morning around noon maybe. It could have been part of another show but for some reason I remember it being a 30 min. show. It centered around a few teenagers (dressed in Colonial garb) and they would do silly mischievous things like sabotaging a British coach or something like that. The main character had brown hair and wore modern eyeglasses. I remember he would call his mother "Momma". That is all I remember. Maybe I could somehow find a tv listing of that time period.

Re: The Liberty Boys (I think)

Wow Ethan, thanks for your persistence on this mystery but that show doesn't look familiar. This show was broadcast somewhere between 1979-1983. The show I remember was a kid's comedy, this one looks like it was a more serious show. I searched everywhere and pretty much gave up. The only thing I can think of is calling my local affiliates (I think it was on either a CBS or NBC affiliate) and see if they have any way of searching that far back. Thanks for your help!

Re: The Liberty Boys (I think)

I thought of "Young Rebels" because it was written up in the book "Bad TV;" http://www.amazon.com/Bad-TV-Craig-N...3636606&sr=1-1 Their description of its plot sounded just like your description of the show you're looking for. I wonder if your show was something produced locally for the Bicentennial era? Who knows. "Young Rebels" apparently had a little camp value (I don't think it took itself very seriously). I vaguely, vaguely, VAGUELY recall that show! I know I did see it a couple of times (I would have been about 6 years old). Actually, Young Rebels would make a nice little dvd set! Maybe we could bug MPI or Shout! At least it has one major star (Louis Gossett Jr.) and a lot of charm, apparently. Anybody else remember Young Rebels?
