The Disclaimer
Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, Circuit City is still out of business...even in Hawaii (where they NEVER guaranteed their prices anyway).

Re: Weekly RoundUp 5-12-2009

Wow, big week! Definitely the Trek films on Blu-ray. I'd also like to pick up the BRs of Fargo, License to Kill, Man with the Golden Gun, Superman Returns and possibly... Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Princess Bride and Underworld: Rise of the Lycans.

Thanks, guys! I think!

Re: Weekly RoundUp 5-12-2009

Got the Trek BD set coming from Amazon. And on moral grounds, I REFUSE to get the two new Bond's since no one has the steelbook version. There's no rush to get them now, so I can happily wait until they're $10 each. Sorry MGM/Fox, you just screwed up big time.

It's hit-or-miss depending on the Best Buy you go to . . . mostly miss, simply because the TrueHD versions will come in stock in each store once the old DD5.1 versions sell out, and that title stopped moving big numbers of inventory a long time ago. The back of the package will indicate which soundtrack options are available, and you may get lucky.

The Warner store is the only reliable place I know of to obtain the TrueHD/PCM version without fail. That's where I got it.

WBshop.com - The Official Online Store of Warner Bros. Studios: Superman Returns (BD) (TrueHD Audio)

Tempted to get the Star Trek BD set but I am hearing some less than positive reviews on the transfers (heavy DNR)

Re: Weekly RoundUp 5-12-2009

Nada para meu! (That's nothing for me for those of you north of the Equator!)

May is going to be a lean one for me, unless I get some more "Dealer Cards".

Not to mention that they are the theatrical versions only.......I prefer the director's cuts (especially for ST:TMP) so I'll just wait. Paramount will probably release them properly the next time since it is one of their reliable cash cows. I'm in no rush......I'm perfectly happy with the DVD's I already have.

As for what I'm actually getting, I'll get Taken, Underworld: Rise Of The Lycans and possibly The Grudge on Blu-ray. Also want CSI: Season 1 but I hear that us Canadians won't get it this week.

Also pissed-off about the lack of a steelbook case for the 2 bonds being released this week. If you're going to release the first 2 batches of Bonds as steelbooks, then you should release them all this way! Doesn't make sense! FWIW, I'll just hold off on a purchase for now.

As for DVD, I'll get this:

Great show.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 5-12-2009

I bought the BRD of Pineapple Express, Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist and The DaVinci Code at Target with this buy 3, get 1 free offer. It worked out to $21.19 for each disc plus the movie cash for Angels and Demons.

It's almost as if the Lycan figure cost $7

In any case, I can't afford movies anymore. I have a few bucks in credit that I'll save for some tv series... Sigh.

Something tells me Will (BTW, you are spot-on about the stupidity of a "Free Figurine" that costs $7...) that if you are interested in a BD copy of Underworld: Rise of the Lycans...there'll be LOTS of copies showing up in the used section of your local store real quick!

Re: Weekly RoundUp 5-12-2009

If anyone's interested, I got the 6 film ST collection for $69.99 at BB. They had a display listing $69.99 even though the shelf tags had $89.99.

Blockbuster also has a fair assortment of BD's 2/$25. Picked up Get Smart, Lakeview Terrace, Nick and Norah and Leatherheads.

Crawdaddy
Amazon has these titles and a few others priced at 3 for $60. I'll probably not return mine to Target for the $3.57 savings.

Beat me to it. I bit the bullet on the collection because of that (I'm trying to spend money at BB anyway so I can get my reward zone membership updated). It rang up at 89.99 but I told they cashier about the display, he went to check it and price matched it. He needed an approval and another guy checked out the display after he put in the price adjustment approval code and the cashier was ringing me up. I felt like Billy Hayes at the airport through all of this. I wonder if someone just F'ed up at B.B. but that's a "YP"

Re: Weekly RoundUp 5-12-2009

I've been waiting for T3: Rise of the Machines to be re-introduced on DVD for a long while now. I was very disappointed at the covert way it's been brought back for SD. Neither Wal*Mart nor Best Buy had any copies; fortunately FYE got in a batch at ~$8.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 5-12-2009

Got a pretty good deal (I think, anyways) at my local BJs WHolesale Club last night.

In a booklet sent to members they had a page with three different coupons :

#1 $5 off any one DVD/Blu-ray from the following list.
#2 $10 off any two...
#3 $15 off any three...

The list included: Bedtime Stories, Yes Man, Frost/Nixon, Bride Wars, Hotel for Dogs, He's Just Not That Into You, Last Chance Harvey, Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Taken, Valkyrie, Paul Blart - Mall Cop, Confessions of a Shopaholic, Gran Torino, Madea Goes to Jail, Defiance.

The coupons are good thru 6-20-09.

I picked up The Curious Case of Benjamin Button Blu-ray ($27.99 on shelf) and Taken DVD ($16.99 on shelf due to a $2 instant coupon). I then subtracted $10 for the BJs coupon and $3 for the Manufacturer's Coupon in this week's People magazine for Benj. Button.

$47 - $2 - $10 - $3 = $32 for the two discs. Not too shabby. It's been a long time since I've purchased current releases. These are both blind buys. I hope TCCoBB doesn't let me down.

What is the UPC code for this? Hopefully the other version uses a different UPC code.
