3 Days of the Condor is a slick, beautifully crafted (by the late Sydney Pollack) 1975 thriller that has stood the test of time.
The Paramount Blu-ray places Owen Roizman's cinematography of the New York City area front and center, and its 117 minutes breezes by populated by some of the finest acting talents of the era.
Everything looks and sounds just right. I'm beginning to smile a bit as, all too often, I see postings on various forums by people seemingly amazed that audio was good and image was in focus "for an old film."
As an almost 35 year-old production, 3 Days was shot with the newly invented glass optics held in front of the camera, taking the place of the pin-hole used in earlier films. The original audio recordings captured to 42" wax cylinders still exist, archived on one of the lower floors of Paramount's vaults.
Amazing how remarkably modern some of these antique films can look.
Great production. Terrific Blu-ray.
Highly Recommended.
