So I went to Best Buy Saturday for a BR player and was looking at spending 200-250 of a player. I was told that this player was DLP HD capable and if my receiver did not have this capability (it does not) I could run it through the analog outputs and it would make the sound 6 times better with a hd audio compatible disk. So I hooked everything up and the sub does not work and it sends a low hum to all speakers when doing the sound test. So I went back to Best Buy to ask them about this and I was told that if I do not have a DLP HD or Dolby HD reciever that it does not matter how I hook it uop it wont work. WTF!!!!!! So I have 2 questions 1. Is this true did I spend $100 extra for nothing. 2. Why is my sub not working with this setup.

Re: Need Help Samsung bd3600
well first read this thread:http://www.hometheaterforum.com/htf/...00-canada.html
then i would think that it is something in the setup of your avr or the 3600 (or both) that has to be set for the 7.1 jacks. You also have to use a certain type of cable i believe (not 100% on that one).
the whole reason to use the analog jacks is to let the 3600 do the audio processing. that way if you have an older avr with out hdmi you are not missing out on the new sound formats.
you will not get any help from staff at a best buy or future shop. I have not met one person there yet that even knows anything about using the 7.1 analog jacks.
please keep me posted on your thoughts of this player. I am only wating for home theatre mag to review the 3600 and the new panasonics before i buy, and would appreciate your input, especially since i will be using the 7.1 analog jacks.

all you can change on the 3600 is the size of speaker no output levels can be changed
