real confused...

I hope I can explain this correctly. I have my pc connected to my TV using a vga cable. Always works and I can see the pc in full wide screen 1080p. I cannot figure the pattern but, sometimes when I go from xbox to pc, I loose the full wide screen. The resolution or format changes.
can anyone help?

What TV do you have?

do you have a separate monitor connected to your PC in addition to the TV connection?

if so, what resolution is the monitor?

Thank you SO much for replying.
The TV is Mitsubishi WD73927
Yes, I have an additional pc monitor. The pc resolution is set to 1920x1080

duh, I should've added that the vga cable goes out of the TV to a kvm switch, and then
from the kvm to the tower.

Well, I was sort of hoping this would be easy. If the monitor were a different rez, then it might have been forcing the computer to change resolution, and that would show strangely on the TV.

I'm pretty sure that the TV stores rez formats for each input, so even if the Xbox is a different rez, it shouldn't change the settings for the VGA in on the TV. Check to make sure the computer screen settings are not changing anyway, just for laughs.

You say there is a KVM switch in the wiring. Are there two computers? Normally a KVM is to hook two computers to one monitor, and it seems that this is the reverse: one computer with two monitors.



Well, I'll think on it. Maybe some other folks will chime in now that we have more to go on....
