Sony STR-DG1200 Help

I'm not getting anyware on finding info on the Sony STR-DG1200

I'm thinking about getting this model for the fact that it has a phono input and a optical out. But I heard it it does not pass audio over HDMI.

Anyone have this and care to comment please?

It decodes the HD audio formats, so it does handle audio over HDMI.
It has 4 HDMI inputs, 5 optical inputs, and 3 Digital coax inputs, so you should be covered for anything you want to connect.

You mentioned it has an optical out (2 actually). Just curious..........what will you use the optical outputs for?

Thanks Ed,

The one I look at only had one optical out. I want that for my cd recorder.

Do you have this model?

No. I got my info here: STR-DG1200 | Home Theater A/V Receiver (7.1 channel) | Sony | SonyStyle USA under the specifications tab...........

To bad they have the info wrong about the optical outputs. Make me wonder what else they got wrong.
I guess I will get one and return it if it does not pass HDMI audio as I have read in many reviews.

If you're sure it's wrong, send them an e-mail about it, so they can correct it.

Well I pick one up over the weekend for $449.00 I'll be hooing it up in the next couple days.
