The Who - on DVD -The Good and the Bad?

I just bought THE WHO The Kids Are Alright - Special Edition Two DVDs (2003 Pioneer).
I am happy with the purchase as I had previously seen the DVD so I knew what I was getting. I'd like to maybe add another Who DVD or two to my collection and wondered what would be good ones to go with to complement what I have or which ones to avoid if there are some poor audio-video quality ones out there too.

I'm a huge Who fan so I think they're all great. The Tommy/Quadrophenia box is pretty fantastic for newer post-Keith Who, though technically the Audio/Video isn't great. The Isle Of Wight concert is a great performance though the filming is quite dated.

Amazing Journey is a great documentary. IIRC the Best Buy edition includes a third disc with a concert, although the A/V quality isn't as good as their other official releases. For something a little different, Pete Townshend's Psychoderelict DVD is awesome.

The Who Maximum R&B has just been re-released with a new 5:1 soundtrack. That is a good one because it features the band throughout their career. It has some interviews between clips but the performances are great. I have not heard the new DVD as I am waiting and hoping it gets a blu-ray release. The Who Live in Boston looks and sounds good but it only has Daltry and Townsend as Entwistle had already died before the tour started. Pino is pretty good on the bass parts but he's mixed pretty far down. I like the Live at Kilbourn disc alot, and it is available on blu-ray as well.

Absolutely full of awesomeness.

The Best Buy Amazing Journey is interesting because the concert DVD is a very early post-Keith performance. Kenney Jones was IMO a very good fit, and plays excellently on this disc.

The documentary itself is not good IMO. It spends about 3/4 of the time on the first 5 or so years from formation through Tommy, then rushes through the 70s so fast that you wouldn't even know that the band was still working. Maybe a sentence each for "Who By Numbers", "Who Are You", etc. while earlier (not nearly as good) records and tours got comprehensive treatment.

Also recommended is the "Classic Albums" documentary about the making of "Who's Next".

Well, it *could* be more complete, but what's there is cool.

I'll second the recommendation. Steely Dan's "Aja" is particularly intertaining.

I'm glad I got it to complement "The Kids Are Alright," but I don't think too much of the Rockpalast 1981 concert. The audio-video quality seems poor. It was still worth getting for the first disc though.

So now that I have these two DVDs -,The Kids Are Alright and Maximum R&B Live, which DVD should I look for next that will give what I am lacking without over duplicating what I already have?
