Sanyo Z3 Blue haze issues

I am new to projectors and had a Sanyo PLZ3 projector given to me. I hooked it up thru my Harmon Kardon amp with component vidoe cables(new) and also hooked up my PS3 into component video. I am getting a blue haze around the outside edge(not uniform) and an egg shaped image kind of like a smear in the center of the screen. The haze look like pixels. The bulb is past due to be replaced and any of the sights I have been on have a different answer for this issue. I can cover the blue haze using the keystone adjustment but it is way out to lunch. The haze is present on either of the component inputs. The blue menu screen is fine but you can see the haze around it. Any ideas. I don't want to invest in a bulb if the rgb plates are shot.

Thanks for any advice

Re: Sanyo Z3 Blue haze issues

Greetings

Polarizer filter wear ... failure. The Blue plate wears out way faster than the other two.

Changing a bulb won't fix this.

These parts usually cost in the $120-150 range ... you might be able to do the labor part yourself.

The organic pigments used here will break down over time ...

Regards
