BBC NEWS | Entertainment | Filmmaker Cardiff dies aged 94

I had the pleasure of meeting him in 2005 at the Widescreen Weekend in Bradford, UK. A great guy and a marvelous cinematographer who will definitely be missed.

I think I'll have a Black Narcissus/The Red Shoes memorial double feature this weekend.

I just happened to have watched A Matter of Life and Death for the first time last weekend (double feature with Cantebury Tale). Not surprisingly, it's another color masterpiece by Cardiff and P&P.
