Sorry if that was unclear. I'm exchanging the single-disc HD-DVD of the Matrix for the Blu-ray digibook.

I'd suggested a disc-only exchange for Casablanca, in case that was a better option than waiting for the Ultimate CE to be back in stock (not that interested in the collectibles and packaging, nice as it seems).

Oh.

UPS just showed up at my door with a box o' Blus.  Order complete, looks good.  Took over two months, but it's done.  Thankfully.

I wasn't sure how to search within this thread in this new htf 2.0 so I thought I would ask...

Has any received the Blu of Superman Returns in exchange for their HD DVD? If so, I just want to confirm they are sending out ones with TrueHD audio.

I exchanged HD-DVD Superman Returns for Blu.
Audio format on the Blu is listed as "Dolby TrueHD: English 5.1, PCM: English 5.1, Dolby Digital: English 5.1, Francais 5.1 (Dubbed in Quebec), Espanol 5.1)

Has anyone tried to send in the old HD-DVD of Full Metal Jacket (the one with the white cover) to see if you get the re-mastered Blu-Ray back?

I sent in the old FMJ and received the new one.  No reported problems.

I sent in 25 covers and got 24 DVD sets back in about 1 month.
The one exception was my Smallville Season 5.....I didnt look close enough, season 5 was not in the exchange deal. Oh well

Darnit.  I shouldn't have waited.  I just went and checked the red2blu site.  Looks like the only title they removed from the site was Casablanca.  Blade Runner and Planet Earth are still there.


I didn't see any "offer expires on XXX date" on the red2blu site.  Has anyone seen a date after which the offer expires?  Should I wait for a new Casablanca offer or should I send in all the other discs now? 

If you waited this long and didn't do it, I'd go ahead and send them in, and do Casablanca later, if it ever comes back.

I sent mine in the day of the announcement, or the day after, and my order for 23 discs is still being held up over Casablanca.

Planet Earth returned just recently after being taken off the list for a few months, and they only accept the Richard Attenborough narrated version (not the Sigourney Weaver narrated version).

You mean David Attenborough, right?  That's the one I've got.  Wasn't the Sigourney Weaver copy a special package deal from Discovery Channel? 

Yes, the Sigourney Weaver one was put out by Discovery Channel. It is a little shorter than the original Attenborough version, and is is only in 1080i as well.

With the cheap-o Casablanca BRD coming now in September, I presume that WB will stall all upgrades until that time. 

I printed out my return-postage sheet and noticed that the return address wasn't mine at all, but rather someplace else in Howell MI even though it printed my name with the return address.

Is this the standard, or did WB screw up in my particular case?

Same with mine, although I'm pretty sure that's just for the sleeve inserts.

And I'm also wondering if my April order will wait until the single-disc Casablanca is available.

Still waiting. For more than 60 days.

 Well, this is an interesting development. Below, is a copy-and-paste of an email I received from WB a few minutes ago. It does appear that they are bailing out, regarding the Casablanca Collector's Edition.

Thank you for your order from Red2Blu.com and for sending in your cover art.

Unfortunately, we had hoped to give you the CASABLANCA COLLECTORS EDITION, but we have run out of stock of these limited edition Blu-ray titles and we do not expect to receive more inventory in time to fulfill your order.  We have removed this item from your order.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience.  Accordingly, we will include a complimentary CASABLANCA Blu-ray disc with your order.  As we have rushed to have these new Blu-ray discs prepared and sent to you as an apology, the Blu-ray will not be shrink-wrapped.

Once again, please accept our sincere apologies.  We will notify you when your order ships.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

That doesn't seem like it's all that bad... 

I got that same e-mail. I can live with the single disc version. Frankly, when the program started, I didn't know there was no single disc version of Casablanca, and I was not counting on getting a big collector's edition in the first place.

 No... a complimentary copy of the single disc movie is fine with me. Does sound like the one being prepped for September release. This one won't even be shrink wrapped. 

At least they can get all those orders rolling out the door. I'm looking forward to my 17 titles.

That's what I figure they mean:  the single disc September release with disc, cover art, case (everything but the shrink wrap!). 

I got that message, but also about THE MATRIX. So no Matrix, after waiting almost 3 months. Not cool with me.

Tim:  What exactly  did the Matrix message say?

The Casablanca message indicates that Casablanca discs are forthcoming.

I wonder why they can't send copies of the 10th anniversary book version of The Matrix as the replacement to the HD-DVD version? 

They're not OOP or in short supply, are they?

It seems odd that the e-mail doesn't provide a resolution to the Matrix issue after raising it as an issue.

I will definitely be calling to find out...
EDIT: Some folks on Blu-ray.com have mentioned a regular (non-digibook) edition of THE MATRIX being sent.
