Subwoofer wiring/jack question

Hello. While that "similar threads we found" thing is neat, I'm not sure if the results are the same as what I'm going to ask (as I don't know what the wires are really called).

I have a pre-wired house and the subwoofer wire is a thick, hard copper wire. I need to know what type of jack to use on both ends so I can connect it to your a-typical red/yellow/white type of wire.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Subwoofer wiring/jack question

typically people use rg6 coax for subwoofers. that is just standard cable like what your tv uses. the only difference is the connector. RCA vs FR.

I am not sure what you have going on. A thick hard copper wire leaves a lot to my imagination (I didn't even know they made cable that thick! lol).

Here's a photo of the cable. Not sure exactly what it is, I just know I need to have 2 jacks (one on each end) that fit that r/y/w cable (like on an xbox/ps2/etc).

Re: Subwoofer wiring/jack question

That is standard coax (like you use for cable or satellite). Like Brandon said, get RCA connectors.

For only $0.42 each when QTY 50+ purchased - RCA Male to F Male Adaptor - Gold Plated | BNC <--> F Adaptors
