The Arrival

This title is coming out April 21st. I don't recall if this was a big hit in the theaters, but it's one of my favorite recent sci-fis. There's a thread over at AVS and one poster has seen it, and is not impressed. The BD is an improvement over a non-anamorphic DVD, what what BD isn't? No extras either.

Very disappointing.

Re: The Arrival

Just to followup, I was thinking the Arrival reminded me a lot of Pitch Black in that they both were probably considered B pics, came into the theaters with little expectations. Pitch Black was a hit, can't remember if The Arrival was.

Both had a lineup of quality actors. The Arrival had Charlie Sheen, Lindsay Crouse, Teri Polo, Richard Schiff, and Ron Silver.

Now I've discovered another reason to think of them together, the same director, David Twohy. He also did the screenplays.

Re: The Arrival

this is worth at least a rental.
It's a really god sci-fi/alien movie.

One of my favorites.
I'll check my laser box set, I'm sure there are some extras on that.

Ron Silver was also very good as usual.

The comment in the other thread was that the DVD (non-anamorphic) did not have the laser extras and neither does the BD

And I agree, a very good sci-fi/alien movie.

Re: The Arrival

I must have seen this film a dozen times when it hit cable. Loved it.
