RPTV video problem

I have an first gen mits hd RPTV monitor, and I'm processing sound and picture through a Boston Acoustics (think Outlaw) A/V receiver, routing all video to the TV via component cables. Just recently, my picture has begun to "dissappear" behind what looks somewhat like a comb, progressing rapidly to a blue screen. It seems to happen on hd signals first, and I seem to lose my 480 p DVD signal last. Any suggestions/thoughts? I'd like to keep the mits because I really like the picture. (Plus I'm cheap.)

Have you tried bypassing the A/V receiver?

I've now isolated the problem to the HD input on my monitor. Any thoughts?

First generation Mitsubishi...!? The cheap solution is to try using the next best input (S-Video). The most sensible solution, given its primitive level of HD performance and age, would be to replace it rather than repair it.

Re: RPTV video problem

Unplug and replug each cable end twice. This should clean and improve the connections if that happens to be the root of the problem.
