I am a packrat. If the item still works, I store it away for future use. When I upgraded to a combo DVD-Recorder/VHS-player in the living room, I stored away the still-functioning DVD player and VHS player/recorder. Their day would come once more.

The small TV in the boy's room died. Now, having a TV in your children's room can be very handy when you want to watch something other than cartoons during a NASCAR race or football game.

A friend gave me his old 32" SDTV. Add in a Digital Converter Box, vcr, dvd, CD/Radio with AUX input, a DB4 antenna and a 3-way switch box (with parallel output) and voila!

Converter box on 1. DVD on 2. VCR on 3. Video 1 output to TV, with L/R audio out to to CD/Radio. Video 2 output to VCR input, so I can record everything from the receiver box and DVD player. The CD/Radio provides some pretty good sound.

We still have a very large collection of SD videos on DVD and VHS. That big old CRTV has a great picture on it.
