Do you think that there is any chance that the great P.I. series: Matt Houston starring Lee Horsley and Pamela Hensley will be released?

Who has the rights? Warner???

Gear mentioned in this thread:

Re: Matt Houston

CBS/Paramount has rights at least for regular syndication according to the Syndication Bible we often reference,

Re: Matt Houston

Great someone finally posted this. I kept posting about his other western series Paradise, nobody seems to know of it then it got the name change to Gunns of Paradise to end the series

Re: Matt Houston

I'd like to see it released. Last I saw it was the 191st most requested unreleased show.

Re: Matt Houston

What would you love to see Shout! Factory release? | Facebook

Re: Matt Houston

CBS/Paramount has never licensed a title under their control so I'd forget about thinking Shout (which I would prefer to see spend money on finishing what they start rather than leave us with more abandoned titles) should pick it up.

Re: Matt Houston

True I would have thought Paramount would have tested the waters and released either a best of set or season 1, they had a good reputation of releasing shows but now slowed down, perhaps its the recession

Re: Matt Houston

Man, I loved this show as kid. I could never get over how much Lee Horsely looked like Tom Selleck.

CBS/Paramount has licensed titles under their control. They licensed some Vh1 shows to Anchor Bay/Starz. Also Judge Judy is out under some company called Allumination.

I would also like to See Matt Houston on DVD. I remember this show from when it first aired.

or Burt Reynolds. Reynolds looked in "Rough Cut" (1980) almost the same as Lee Horsley in "Matt Houston" 2 years later.....

Re: Matt Houston

This has been on my want list for over 10 years now. This is an Aaron Spelling property. So perhaps it has a chance to get released one of these days. CBS/Paramount seems to be releasing alot of his stuff.

I remember Paradise/Guns of Paradise. I really liked that show. Also Hawkeye with Lynda Carter AKA Wonder Woman as his costar.

Re: Matt Houston

Matt Houston was an excellent show. I liked seasons 2 and 3. Paradise was not one of Lee Horsely's favorites since the network played all types of games with the show from moving it all over the timeslot to even changing the name to Guns of Paradise.

With the Vega$ announcement and release schedule for October, it make me wonder if they are going to visit Matt Houston release. I like Matt Houston, especially how Buddy Ebsen was included in this show. I like Buddy Ebsen on Barnaby Jones and would love to see that show released.

CBS owns it? Oh great, that means it would be split seasons and 6 releases (if it would get that far). Forget it, that might as well be another one I'll forget about looking forward to.

i have order my copy of Matt Houston. I like this show, especially Pamela Hensley as CJ. She was a doll on buck rogers.

I requested a review copy of Matt Huston, but who knows whether Paramount will oblige? Fingers crossed.

Axelmusic hasn´t shipped "Matt Houston-Season 1" to me yet though it will be officialy released at the same day as "Scarecrow and Ms King".
Scarecrow and Ms King" is already on my way to Germany where I live. So hopefully they will send "Matt Houston" this week as well to me!
I´m looking forward to get this great show on DVD!

What is this axelmusic you speak of ?   an overseas shop ?

A review would be nice.. As you don't expect to see many for these kind of shows.  I have my order in for Matt Houston + Scarecrow and Mrs. King as well (with Amazon). The release week of March 9 is one of the better ones in recent memory. Two 80's gems make their debut on DVD.

www.axelmusic.com is I think an overseas shop. There are known that they sent the discs 2 weeks before the original release date. My "Scarecrow and ms King" -Season 1 is on my way to Germany but they didn´t sent "Matt Houston"-Season 1 to me yet.

But it´s only a matter of time when this will happen. When I received my discs I´ll post a review here!

I´ve just got an e-mail from axelmusic. They´ve just shipped my "Matt Houston"-Season 1 to Germany. So hopefully next Tuesday I´ll received my package.

On www.tvshowsondvd.com is a brand new official statement about Season 1 from CBS/paramount.

What I don´t understand is why does CBS/Paramount release "Matt Houston" in a full season and series such as "Vega$, Cannon, Streets of San Francisco" in half seasons?

Why do they release one season complete and other series in half seasons?
I don´t understand that.....

I am working on the Matt Huston first season set, and though I'm only seven episodes in, they look wonderful (except for some problems with the TV-movie pilot).

Some other review material came in today so I must put Matt off to the side until releases for today's street date are dealt with, but I should have the review up some time this weekend.

MattH.: If you were involved on the "Matt Houston"-Season 1 set, do you think that we´ll get Season 2 this year as well or depends it on the selling numbers?

It is good to hear that so far they look good, I look forward to the review. So far 2010 has been really good to me as far as series that I have been waiting for to be released.
Good to hear on the Transfers.. I kind of expected that though.. being that the bible site (where did that go btw ?) had listed S1 as being remastered.  Pamela Hensley is sure to look extra good.
No, he's just watching/reviewing it I think. It's not a show I recall being mad about when it was first on, but hearing it looks good and it's an old show by now (from the '80s) I'm sure I'll be acquiring it, feeling positively certain it's still better entertainment than anything current and dark on TV these days.

Correct. I'm just reviewing the set for HTF.
