Bluetooth

Hi there,
I'm new to this, so apologies if this is a stupid question.

If I buy a receiver with bluetooth capabilities, does this mean if I buy a bluetooth dongle for my laptop I will be able to listen to the music on my computer through the home theatre speakers?

If this is viable is there anything in paticular I should look for in a dongle (speed etc) so that the music plays properly?

Thanks

Re: Bluetooth

Was this a really stupid question?

Would it be better to get one I can plug an mp3 player into and do it that way?

Or is there something really simple I am overlooking?

Thanks

Re: Bluetooth

Sorry Kat, the lack of responses probably means we are not too familiar with Bluetooth devices. I'm only know how my phone, computer, and car stereo interact. I believe it may work, but I can not say for certain. Maybe a call to the receiver manufacturer could answer your question. Or, search Google....

Re: Bluetooth

I imagine that if the receiver has full Bluetooth capabilities, then you can both stream music from a bluetooth device and listen to your receiver via bluetooth headphones/speakers. But like David said, check the manufacturers specs because this is a fairly new feature on receivers.

Re: Bluetooth

Thanks David and Jeff

I have already googled it, thats how I found this great forum. Since I am new to learning about home theater systems I didn't realise that bluetooth was a fairly new feature to receivers, so I will definately check out the specs on the individual receivers I look at, to make sure it works how I hope it does. Thanks for the help If anyone has any experience with receivers with bluetooth, or could recomend a certain make/model, I would love to hear from you.
