CBS Announced today that they are ending Production of the Soap Opera The Guiding Light, which began it's run on Television in 1952, making it the longest running TV Show in history. (It actually ran as a Radio Show starting in 1935!) I'd hate to see what a "Complete Series" DVD Box Set would look like!

Let's have you Input on this Show (Personally I never got off on these kind of programs, but that's my opinion, so be it.)

I don't think so. I heard it on the radio news earlier. I never saw it so I don't care, but I bet the fans won't let it die without a fight.

Now, now let's be nice. My mom used to watch this years and years ago when I was a kid. In fact I think I have some of the radio episodes on mp3.

Anyone worth their salt knows this Forum DOES NOT TOLERATE "April Fools" Jokes. I would not have posted this if it was not true.

If that was a joke, a lot of the media fell for it, since it's being reported all over.

For the record, a Complete Box Set of this Soap Opera would have over 15,000 Episodes in it!

Me "I'd like to return this Guiding Light Box set. Disk 1,498 doesn't play properly."

Best Buy Clerk "Do you have your receipt?"

Me "Of course"

Best Buy Clerk "You bought this in 2009. But... that was 72 years ago!"

And then you'd have to watch all the previous discs again to make sure you didn't get a bad one in the new set.
