The Disclaimer
Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, Circuit City is still out of business...even in Hawaii (where they NEVER guaranteed their prices anyway).

The Specials

--‡ Best Buy has a “reward” for members of its Reward Zone program on the price of the Blu-ray version of Slumdog Millionaire. Everyone else pays $26.99 this week, RZ members pay $25.99.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 3-31-09

Thanks for the Roundup!

Not much for me this week but I will be asking for a price adjustment from Target on Goldfinger.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 3-31-09

Man, that Goldfinger price is tempting.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 3-31-09

Well it's time to see what actually happened with the Gigi BRD, and why it took about 5 months delay over the SD-DVD SE. http://www.hometheaterforum.com/htf/...-2008-dvd.html

But Gary Tooze's review doesn't show the brown sky complained about above. http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film2/DVDRe...gi_blu-ray.htm

Re: Weekly RoundUp 3-31-09

WoooHooo, finally, The Matrix! Plus I'll pick up the two pack of CoR and Pitch Black.

Well, I'm getting alot this week. All 8 After Dark Horrorfest III titles on dvd. Then, Pitch Black, Riddick, Two Evil Eyes and Never Say Never Again on Blu. Damn! Thanks, as always, for the round-up Mike and Patrick.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 3-31-09

Definitely getting the Riddick Blu-Ray 2-pack.....really looking forward to watching Pitch Black in Hi-def. I may also pick up Seven Pounds.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 3-31-09

The Matrix is 10 years old already??? Please stop time, it's moving too fast.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 3-31-09

Mike,
Amazon now has "An American in Paris" for 19.99 just like "Gigi".

Re: Weekly RoundUp 3-31-09

As much as I'd love to stimulate the economy more this week with South Pacific and Milk (Target), I blew way too much coin last week with a whole bunch of Bond's from BB and Amazon. I'll sit this one out, I think. (Thanks guys!)

Re: Weekly RoundUp 3-31-09

Goldfinger and World Is Not Enough (Target), Slumdog and the Matrix for me. American In Paris is tempting.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 3-31-09

I was at Target this morning and there were six Bond Blu-rays on sale. Don't quote me but I think the other two were Thunderball and Die Another Day.

I'll be picking up The Fugitive: Season Two- Volume Two on DVD and Ghosts Of Mars and Two Evil Eyes on Blu-ray.

Thanks for the prices, guys!

Re: Weekly RoundUp 3-31-09

Re: Weekly RoundUp 3-31-09

And for you puppy types, Fred Meyer's special this week is an additional $5 off the sale price of $16.99 for Marley & Me DVD when purchased with a specially marked bag of Purina Dog Chow/Puppy Chow.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 3-31-09

The Target price for the 007s is great, but mine never has many BDs in stock. I'm scheduled to go today but I doubt I'll have much luck...

No excuses. Fixed.

But, at least Mary Martin was also known to have weighed about "101 pounds of fun..."

Re: Weekly RoundUp 3-31-09

How did she ever get that name out of "Francesca Marlene de Czanyi von Gerber"?

Re: Weekly RoundUp 3-31-09

Renting Slumdog here...saw that Kmart has a free "Marley" picture frame with the 2 disc version on Marley and Me, but the flyer didn't list a price....

Re: Weekly RoundUp 3-31-09

Re: Weekly RoundUp 3-31-09

I didn't see this posted yet, but I was in BB to get my Never Say Never price match...they have all seasons of the slim case X Files for $19.99 again. I almost bit on them but wouldn't be able to justify that big purchase after last week.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 3-31-09

Jason,

Are you able to price match the bond bd at BB? Thanks.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 3-31-09

I only got NSNA at BB, Steve, and they had no problem with that price match. From what I understand around the web, BB is honoring the price match; mine didn't even call to see if Target had any in.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 3-31-09

I have been a loooong time lurking member, but something that I learned yesterday has brought me to post. I was extremely dismayed to find that major chains aren't carrying the Warner musical Blu-rays in-store. Not now, and no plans for the future. Online only.

This means you can't just walk into a store and buy the following Blu-rays:

An American in Paris
Gigi
South Pacific

Granted, I buy online most of the time, but this isn't a trend I like. Best Buy, Target, Wal-Mart, AND Fry's aren't carrying it in stores. There may be a local DVD shop here in Austin that carries it, but none of the majors are.

What a strange turn in the Era of Instant Gratification.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 3-31-09

That's extremely odd, Moises. These may not be marquee titles like Quantum of Solace or Bolt, but there is a market for old school musicals. Add to that they're from major studios (Warner and Fox-South Pacific). Maybe someone can help my memory, but I don't recall of the top of my head if any other product has been kept out of the major B/M's.

Oh yeah, welcome to the thread!

Just curious...where did you get the info? Is it the stores' decision or Warner's?
