I am looking to purchase a camcorder---but it needs to work with IMOVIE 08/09. I keep getting conflicting info and really need help.

Sam,Perhaps you posted this elsewhere but I am very curious to know
how iMovie works and your experience with AVCHD?
I hear it is not an easy drag and drop procedure, takes up a lot
of processing power, and that Mac not especially friendly towards it.
Unfortunately all the really good new camcorders are in that
format so this is something I am inevitibly going to have to deal with.
