Help with Connection of XBOX360 to Sony STR-DG720

I have recently purchased the Sony STR-DG720 receiver for my home theater and am in need of assistance with regards to the connection of my XBOX360 to the receiver, via HDMI.

My problem is as follows: every time I switch from the BD input (where the XBOX is connected) to the SAT input (where my HD cable is connected), or visa versa, the 360 immediately crashes, wiping any active game data and restarting. This is also the case if I start the 360 before switching from SAT to BD; the 360 starts up fine, but the moment I make the switch in input, the 360 crashes and restarts. I thought initially that the problem was perhaps interference form the remote, but tried using the knobs on the actual receive to switch inputs (thereby avoiding the remote) with the exact same result.

As one could well imagine, this is a small but very annoying problem that I am desperately seeking assistance with. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Are you using any other AV connections from the xbox besides the HDMI? I saw on some other forum people having reboots in this situation if they also had a different video connection in use.

No, the only chords attached to the back of the XBOX are the HDMI running to the BD input on the receiver and the ethernet cable from my modem...

Actually, Stephen Tu, I need to clarify. I did actually have a other chords attached to the back of XBOX (my old HDMI converter that I needed for my previous XBOX). Once I removed this converter, the problem disappeared.

Thanks for the help, and if anyone else is having this same problem, make sure that you only have one 'out' from your XBOX 360...

Joe.

I have had a problem with the Xbox 360 that sometimes it will not run 5.1 if you turn on the reciver first.  I will need to reboot the Xbox sometimes a few times to get the 5.1 one to work.  A real pain!  I have never had it happen with any other device such as DVD players, Blu-ray players or my computer.
