MGM Press Release: Licence to Kill and The Man With The Golden Gun (Blu-ray) - Page 3

I believe he said he was going to talk to MGM, but as MGM is up for sale (and being broken into parts), I'm not sure how much control they really have over these titles. My guess is once MGM's assets go on the block, the rights to the Bond films will revert back to Sony.

Any more info on this yet Ron?

MGM informed me a few days ago that it will not be till shortly
after New Years that they will get back to me on this.

Thanks for the update, Ron.  Makes sense, a lot of people  are taking vacations right now.

I'm very much looking forward to the update.  In all my years, I've somehow managed to avoid Bond altogether.  So I'm seeing them for the first time on Blu-ray and refuse to buy the DVDs just to see the rest.  I've even given up hope of seeing the rest of them arrive in Steelbooks at this point and would be happy to just get any sort of release (although a continuation of the Steelbooks would be awesome of course!)

Thanks for staying on top of this Ron.  I look forward to your report.

Thanks for the update Ron. Hopefully we will have some good news for Bond and MGM very soon.
